We are currently recruiting for three roles: Maintenance Assistant,  Accounts Officer and Aircraft Refueller. see below for details.

MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT – Closing date 22nd August

This is an interesting position working across the airport site, maintaining the estate to a high standard and in accordance with regulatory bodies. You will have the ability to work individually and as part of a team with good time management and physical skills.

This varied and, at times, physically demanding position is vital to the safe operation of our Aerodrome and therefore the role holder will be expected to work flexibly, including some nights, evenings and weekends when required.


  • Operating and driving of a wide range of vehicles and plant and equipment including vehicle attached machinery, ride on machinery and hand held equipment to maintain open spaces and property to the required standards;
  • Grass cutting;
  • Herbicide application;
  • Grassland, hedge and tree maintenance;
  • Fencing;
  • Painting;
  • Decorating;
  • Plumbing;
  • Hot tar surface repairs;
  • Ensure consistently high standards of customer service are delivered at all times;
  • Communicate with other airport teams to ensure a seamless delivery of customer service;
  • Carry out any reasonable task requested of you.

ACCOUNTS OFFICER – Closing date 22nd August

This role is a critical influential link between our accounting and customer service/operational teams. It plays a key part in creating and ensuring a seamless positive experience for our customers and ensuring ultimately that all payments are being made/received timely and efficiently, maintaining our working capital, and ensuring that our customers are invoiced correctly reducing their disputes to us and improving their experience and interaction with the airport.

The role will be responsible for all matters once a sales order has been completed, checking the order  details,  liaising with  operations and  customer  service,  talking &  reconciling payments, transferring the order to our accounting system, following up on non-credit customers, investigating aged open orders and disputes, being a professional face of Biggin Hill Airport Limited and constantly challenging what we are doing, why, and taking ownership over processes and systems and seeking to make improvements.

The role must balance a keen attention to detail with an open, communicative approach and engagement with internal and external customers and stakeholders.

The role will report in to Finance but also has a dotted line to the Head of Customer Service and Terminal Operations. The person must be seen and felt to be one of the team in both departments. The person must strive for quality and excellence in all aspects of their role and be comfortable in challenging the status quo and taking the initiative.

AIRCRAFT REFUELLER – Closing date 25th August

Aircraft Refuellers are responsible for the delivery of aviation fuels to all aircraft using the airport and for  the  acceptance  of bulk  fuel  delivery  to  the airport.    They are  also responsible for stock control and the ordering of fuel and lubricant products and the maintenance and retention of the fuelling equipment.  Aircraft Refuellers are required to ensure high levels of quality control and maintain records as required by regulatory authorities.  They also liaise with other airport staff and aircraft operators in respect of all fuel matters.

This is a customer focused role within the laid down procedural requirements.  The job holder is expected to deal appropriately with a wide range of people to ensure they have an exceptional experience at the airport – this includes crew, engineers and tenants – showing diplomacy and professionalism whilst fulfilling an essential operational role.

London Biggin Hill Airport has a one-team approach and, although you will be working in the Fuel Team, there will be times when you may be asked to help out in other areas to ensure that customer service is never compromised.
